Australian rooftop PV installation reaches 20GW
Solar consulting firm SunWiz recently announced that rooftop solar power will overtake coal-fired power as the main source of electricity in Australia with the retirement of a coal-fired power plant in New South Wales in April.
According to analysis by the REC registry, the clean energy regulator, Australia's installed rooftop solar capacity has just reached the 20GW mark, with more than 3.4 million solar power systems installed on home and business rooftops.
