More than 40 million kilowatts of installed PV capacity in operation in Brazil

According to the latest data from the Brazilian Solar Energy Association, Brazil has more than 40GW of installed PV capacity in operation, of which about 27.5GW is from distributed PV, including all Brazilian power generation installations of 5MW and below.

Of the total power generation, small micro-power plants of 75 kW and below accounted for 22.7GW, distributed in 2.4 million systems.

 

Brazil has around 12.5GW of utility-scale solar installed capacity. According to the Brazilian Solar Energy Association, the current proportion of photovoltaic power generation in Brazil's electricity structure is 17.4%. In the first two months of this year alone, 3GW of new solar capacity was added.
