10-03-2021

The government has decided to increase the subsidy for renewable energy production from 0.093 dinars per kilowatt-hour to 0.437 dinars from 2021, a five-fold increase.

In 2013, subsidies for renewable energy production will be abolished in electricity prices to encourage the production of renewable energy such as wind, small hydropower, biomass and solar energy, the article said.At 350 kWh per month, it is estimated that the average household will pay 153 dinars instead of 33.

According to the article, the feed-in tariff model has been abandoned by EU member countries, but is widely adopted by non-EU countries in the western Balkans. In an effort to ease the burden on businesses, Thessen announced in early 2019 that it would transition from a feed-in tariff model to an auction and franchise model. But since then, the Serbian government has not taken concrete action.
