Germany: to deal with the energy crisis by reducing the tax of household photovoltaic
The German government continues to tackle the energy crisis by implementing tax breaks to support small-scale photovoltaic measures. This time, the tax break is designed to support photovoltaic systems up to 30kw.
The new rules plan that from early 2023, any photovoltaic system operating on a single-family residential or commercial property with a power output of up to 30kw will no longer have to pay income tax on the amount of electricity generated.
The measure was approved by the German government in the annual tax Act 2022. The tax exemption also applies to residential users and mixed-use properties with 15kw photovoltaic systems.
In addition, the import procurement and installation of photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems will no longer be subject to value-added tax (VAT). A prerequisite for this is that the system is installed on or near private homes and apartments, as well as on public buildings and other buildings used for activities in the public interest. Owners of self-use photovoltaic systems that generate no more than 30 megawatt-hours of electricity per year will be eligible for the exemption, as long as their installed capacity does not exceed 30 kilowatts.(News from guangfu.bjx)
