India: 6.8GW of new PV capacity installed in the first half of 2023
India added 6,794MW of installed PV capacity in the first half of 2023, according to a new report released by JMKResearch. Among them, the rooftop solar portion increased by 2,294MW, higher than the total rooftop PV installed capacity in 2022. Wind power installations surged 166% year-on-year to 1,878MW.
In the first half of 2023, Gujarat led the country with 1.6GW of installed solar capacity. And, thanks to its deployment of wind-solar hybrid policy, Gujarat also leads in installed wind power capacity with 1.039GW in H1 2023.
According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), India's cumulative installed capacity of renewable power generation reached 129.6GW as of June 30, 2023, with solar accounting for about 54% of the total installed renewable energy capacity.(News from guangfu.bjx.com)
