India's installed PV capacity is expected to reach 104 GW by 2025
According to the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA), India currently has about 73 gigawatts of installed solar power capacity. It is expected that by fiscal year 2024 and 2025, the new solar power capacity will reach 17 GW and 20 GW respectively.
ICRA expects India's installed renewable energy capacity to increase to about 170 gigawatts by March 2025 from 132 gigawatts in October 2023. Among them, solar installed capacity will account for the vast majority of new installed capacity. Meanwhile, solar installed capacity is expected to increase from 72 GW in October 2023 to 104 GW by March 2025. New solar capacity is expected to be 17 GW in FY2024 and 20 GW in FY2025.
