Chinese company to develop 10 GW solar projects in Egypt
A new agreement signed between Chinese companies and Egyptian government officials is part of Egypt's Green Corridor Initiative, which aims to increase the use of renewable energy. The solar projects involved in the agreement are expected to save more than US$1 billion in natural gas costs annually.
Egypt's Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker said: "This project is in line with Egypt's goal to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the energy mix to 42% by 2030, as well as the national climate strategy to 2050."
