Spain launches first agriPV project
BayWa r.e. has launched its first agrivoltaics (agriPV) project in Spain—a 54MW facility near Granada. Featuring 85,000 solar panels with 10% of the land reserved for farming, this project will also serve as a research hub in collaboration with Universidad de Cordoba and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The energy generated will be sold to the Velux Group under a PPA.
A second 60MW agriPV project in Gerena is set to go online next year. This milestone highlights BayWa r.e.’s commitment to the energy transition and sustainable farming.
